Radical 5™

RADICAL 5 ™is a company regrouping artists and technicians from all background, mixing traditional theatre savoir-faire with new media technology, in order to create videos, shows and mega-events.

Founded in 1999 by Jean-Pierre Pérusse, he recently associated himself with Miss Kat Coric in order to produce special events and to showcase artist in visual art.

JEAN-PIERRE PÉRUSSE

RADICAL 5 ™, whose founder and artistic director is Jean-Pierre Pérusse, rapidly gained recognition and was chosen, as well as Jean-Pierre Pérusse, in the TOP 10 of the « BEST DANCE COMPANY and BEST CHOREOGRAPHER » category according to popular vote of « THE BEST OF MONTREAL 2002 » in the weekly magazine MIRROR of Montreal. In 2009 he created, with photographer Bob Hendriks and artist Kat Coric, the exhibition PER7EPTION that was ranked in the TOP 10 exhibitions of Montreal by popular vote in the ''BEST OF MONTRÉAL'' poll of The Mirror.

From 2005 to 2007 he was ARTISTIC DIRECTOR of the BBCM FOUNDATION for the BLACK & BLUE and the HOT & DRY parties, which won many international prizes in 2006 & 2007 such as ‘‘BEST CIRCUIT EVENT’’ of EDGE NY and ‘‘MEILLEUR FESTIVAL INTERNATIONAL’’ of PINK TV Paris. In 2008 he becomes the ARTISTIC DIRECTOR of PRIDE CELEBRATION MONTREAL

Since 1996 he has created and directed many shows for the BAD BOY CLUB MONTREAL as well as for clubs and major events in Montreal, Toronto and Quebec. His training in professional interpretation, multimedia, martial arts and in various dancing styles make his events percussive and poignant, in the image of his diversity of interests and his social implication with persons stricken by HIV/AIDS.

In addition to being an actor, (having played next to actors such as ROY DUPUIS in SCOOP 3, CRISTOPHE LAMBERT and MARIO VANPEEBLES in HIGHLANDER 3, and offering a « stunning performance » at the Montreal première of DIVINITY BASH / NINE LIVES of Bryden Macdonald), he was also co-founder of the theatrical company TRANS-THÉÂTRE, revered by the public and its critics for the past 18 years.

The play CYBERJACK of TRANS-THÉÂTRE, in which he and RADICAL 5 ™ produced the multimedia faction, received the qualitative mention of « la surprise théâtrale de la saison 2000-2001 » by the information program MONTRÉAL CE SOIR and « la pièce la plus branchée de la saison théâtrale » according to the newspaper VOIR as well as being chosen TOP 5 in the category « BEST PLAY » according to the popular vote of « THE BEST OF MONTREAL 2002 » in the weekly magazine MIRROR of Montreal.

 

KAT CORIC

Kat Coric born in the city of Dubrovnik in Croatia, and who immigrated with her family to Montreal in 1974, is a multidisciplinary artist, producer and art collector.
 
She has been artistically active in Montreal since 1998. In her work she explores issues relating to HIV / AIDS, Harm Reduction and the underground dance club culture. She produces special events that foster education around these subjects and is well known for creating memorable, original artistic events incorporating various artists from all domains.
 
Her premiere solo exhibition held at Saloon Restaurant, Montreal in April of 2003 was voted one of top ten in the Montreal Mirror reader’s poll.
 
Fugues Magazine, Montreal named her “one of the 15 most influential and in vogue persons of 2003”.
 
In 2005, along with actor Jean Pierre Pérusse, she produced and stared in the sci fi short film; Leatherella Against The Evil Crystal Queen, a five minute video created to be seen in dance clubs.
 
She is currently working on a new crystal meth public service announcement, and on future exhibitions in her native Croatia
